I was initially hesitant to spend more on a Leica lens than the Zeiss or the Voigtlander but after using all three it is clear the price was worth it! The image quality is incredible but the experience, handling, and feel is priceless. The design and build of the lens makes it worth every penny and much more! This is more much for than paying for a label - you are paying for a top of the line, irreplaceable item that will only go up in value!

The silver Leica lenses are made of brass not aluminum like the black ones. It makes them feel more solid, as well as being noticeably heavier. Optically this lens is close to perfect. Nothing else to say. Crazy sharp at all apertures, minimal to no fall off, minimal to no distortion. The only question is the price/value equation and that is up to you to decide. Remember how people say "they don't make stuff like they used to?" Well, one company still does. Leica.
This is the second best 35mm lens in the world. (after 35mm f1.4 asph summilux) Last and best construction of all predecessors (v.5) It is really small , the silver is much solid then a black, alluminium version. The picture is buitifully saturated , veeeeery sharp , and it has a leica 3D view. It is wide enoughton m8 . Highly recommended.

An excellent lens for street photography. The more I use it, the more I like it. An excellent lens for my M9.
