Designed for digital bodies only, the Sigma Lens for Nikon has a pro build quality and distinct finish, delivering a view similar to a 15-30 mm lens. With a 10-20 mm f/4.0-5.6 lens, this lens is wide-angled with a view of 94.5 to 56.8 degrees. This makes the Sigma Wide Angle Lens a powerful tool for landscape photography, producing sharp images with exaggerated perspectives. There are three SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass elements on the Sigma Lens for Nikon, as well as three aspherical lenses, providing optimum quality while zooming. It also uses Sigma’s Hyersonic Motor (HSM) to autofocus with a quiet motor on all of Nikon bodies that can drive AF-S lenses. Photographers no longer need to spend time focusing with lens rotation as the Sigma Lens for Nikon has an internal focusing system, letting the user use a petal-type hood to protect from additional glare. This 10-20 mm f/4.0-5.6 lens is constructed with 14 elements in 10 groups, has an angle view of 102.4 to 63.8 degrees, and a minimum focusing distance of 9.4 inches. Excellent wide angle lens
I have been shooting real estate photography on an APS-C Nikon D7100 with a 16-85mm lens which has worked for most applications, but in some smaller rooms, it became a bit limiting. This 10-20mm lens solved that problem. This lens paid itself off for me in the first photoshoot with how much easier it was to get set up and capture what I needed to. Bathrooms were always a nightmare because of tight spaces, but with this lens, it's no problem at all. Being just over $200 to get the extra FoV as compared to the thousands I would spend on going to a full frame body and buying lenses to match, I'd say there's a lot of bang for buck out of this lens. The fact that it starts at f/4 is no problem in my case since pretty much all of my indoor shots are done at f/6.3 & ISO 640. Stopped all the way down, it's still pretty darn sharp. I'm still accustomed to having VR on my 16-85mm lens, so it's not quite as good for hand held shots, especially in darker rooms and basements, but with the much wider FoV, I have yet to run into a situation where I couldn't use a tripod. I would mention that there was white oxidation on the rubber focus and zoom rings. This is easily taken off with a dry toothbrush and doing so really brought the look of the lens back to near brand new.
