So interesting and so many references to people, places and things that I had to learn about . It took me a long time to read and so fascinating and I learnt so much of historical interest as well as the author’s family

Hurrah for this Hare
A riveting, fluent account, not only of a remarksable family but of the history and composition of Japanese netsuke figures. Compelling reading, but one minor quibble is the tiny font size of this paperback edition. I bought this to replace the original hardback edition, lost on holiday, but in which the font was much larger and more legible for those readers like myself who are visually impaired.
