  • Great wide-angle lens

8mm is much wider than you'd expect. The lens handles sun flare great, which is important, because with that field of view you're going to catch the sun in your frame a lot. The lens has a strong barrel distortion at 8mm, which can be corrected in Lightroom. The autofocus is fast and accurate. It can focus quite closely. My copy doesn't seem to suffer from chromatic aberration. Be mindful of what you're going to shoot - maybe you don't need 8mm, and could go for a 10-20mm Sigma, which is less expensive. Shooting wide-angle requires technique, knowledge, and thought.
