sharp images
This lens is capable of really sharp images, the focus can grt caught out sometimes, sometimes down to my error I think, ive had the lens for a month now and I am very pleased with the results. I have upgrsded from a panasonic fz1000 to a canon yd mk3, so thr quality should be and is much better in terms of sharpness and quality of image. I get a sharpness and overal quality I could not achieve with the panasonic, good thought the fx1000 is. It's the best in it's class, but has shortcomings the cheaper ones don't have
Very expensive for what it is, if you don't snap up a bargain second hand. I had to calibrate it to my camera as the auto focus was off at wide angles. Fortunately the Canon 6D allows you to micro adjust each lens you attach to get it tack sharp. I had the STM version of this lens at half the price and I have to say I was hard pushed to see the difference between them. It's only when you zoom in 100% you can tell and at certain apertures, the STM one is better, it's lighter and shorter (meaning at wide indoors you get more in the shot if you are up against a wall). I think L lenses have a reputation for being Pro, and it is, it has nice bokeh even at f4 but if you are on a budget, Canon's cheaper STM lenses come close enough if you are just a weekend hobbyist.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

One of the most practical lenses I’ve used
I bought this lens used recently I was torn between the 24-105mm and the 24-70mm as I had seen more people running the 24-70mm but opted for the 105mm variant as I got a good deal on it, I run it on a mid range canon cropped sensor camera and it functions great for photos and it’s even more in its prime for videos, sometimes I find the 24mm shortest focal length a little too tight but I think it’s be much more useful on a full frame camera to remove the 1.6 magnification factor, all in all a great lens that lives in my bag every day as my primary lens on a daily bases when I’m not carrying more than a camera and a lens.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

The all round go to L lens
This lens offers a great balance between versatility and reliability, the lens although a little on the weighty side consistently grabs sharp focus and clear images across the range. Once you push the aperture to its most closed off range however you will start seeing a degradation, but nothing major. my 24-105 L pretty much travels with me on all of my travels and jobs, it may not get used all of the time as I do prefer prime lenses, however it is a great lens to be able to rely on should anything go wrong. When I am out travelling this rarely comes off the camera unless I am looking for a very specific shot. On a side note, the build quality (although generally fantastic) is not perfect, with a little age on it I have noticed now that gravity will cause the lens to zoom as the resistance on the zoom control ring has worn in thoroughly now and the weight of the lens elements will allow gravity to take over. Fantastic lens.
The Cannon L series 24-105mm lens is fantastic, the images are so sharp, and the lens its self is in near mint condition, the images are like I've never seen from my Cannon eos 250D before,it's as if I bought a new camera to, it has so much improved the performance of my camera.

Brilliant "Must Have" Piece of Kit
If you only buy one L Series Lens this year, Splash out on this little Beauty.. Right out the Box the Lens feels solid and looks the business. It doesn't disappoint either when put through its Paces. I used it for a month on my Canon 750D & 5D Mk III before posting this Review. The sharpness on stills right across the zoom range on both cameras was impressive. I'm really happy with my purchase and its now my "Go To" lens. I haven't tried the video capabilities as yet, I'll leave that for another day. There are sharper lenses out there if you have deep pockets but all in all, this lens is great value for money and would be a useful addition to any Kitbag. I had been looking at purchasing the Canon L-Series 24-105mm F4 IS USM Lens for a long time To add to my collection of Canon L Lenses. Having spent some time with the lens I have not been disappointed. This Lens is a great all rounder and although it has some limitations being F4 it still performs pretty well when the light isn't to good. Because this Lens has been around for along time now is a great time to buy one and get a good deal. I will be using this lens a lot and its a great addition to my kit. Is it worth investing in one ? In my opinion a resounding YES
