It is the best BT I've ever had! Absolutely fantastic, and worth its price. The sound quality is at really high AKG level! I like that it has separate buttons for play, volume, on/off. You can also use them with cable, but I prefer the BT mode - it seems the headphones DAC and equalizer are better than my phone, and I save my phone battery. They also cancel the surrounding noise to a good level, without having any specific noise canceling features. Also very comfortable for making handsfree calls, mic is good! Bluetooth connection to my A3 is perfect, I had many issues with other brands just walking on the street, passing wires/objects. With these I never lose the connection, and I can listen in the whole apartment, forgetting my phone somewhere. Before I've tried many headphones with a strap behind the head, but they break very easily, so I decided to go for bigger and rugged ones. Battery life is so long. I listen to them for ~1 hour every day, and after 2 weeks they are still running!? I never managed to fully discharge them, I charge them every 2 weeks. Only disadvantage - it is very easy to turn them on/off when you fold them, because the left side just pushes the on/off switch on the right side.Read full review

These are great as far as sound performance are concerned and having the choice of bluetooth or direct wired connection is really good cos if the battery runs out you can just plug them in directly and off you go again. The one critisism is that when you stow them away the earpiece on one side buts up against the on/off button and turns the phones back on again. The only way round it is to shorten the headband on one side and lengthen the other, or, pack them with one earpiece flat and the other at right angles. Can't believe that the designers at AKG could not see that during the design stage. If it wasn't for that I would give them 5 stars.

The product was fairly priced and I received it fast. It was in a good, new condition as advertised. However, I was disappointed with the product. I purchased this model of AKG headphones, expecting a model that would be far more slight and lightweight. The older AKG headphones I was aiming to replace are the AKG Y45BT model. I am VERY disappointed that there are not many units available of that precise model in a "new" condition. (I'm disappointed AKG no longer puts these out, if I'm honest.) I guess I am very particular about headphones and comfort. My old, tattered AKG Y45BT headphones have been the only headphones I've felt are perfect for everything, all my needs. They fit well on my head without pressing too hard or being too loose. The pads are soft and small enough to fit comfortably over my ears without applying too much, uneven pressure and pressing on the arms on my glasses leading to discomfort when wearing for prolonged periods. They have good range, good audio quality and an optional audio jack cable for when bluetooth is not a possibility. They've also had (and continue to have) real staying power. Apart from the breakdown of the pads, they still work fine, if not as perfectly as when brand new. In the product photos, this model looked really similar, and I hoped it would be almost identical, an updated version of the same basic model. But they are far larger and tighter, heavier than I was hoping. In an effort to save money, it may not happen immediately, but it's likely that I'll order a unit of the AKG Y45BT headphones in the future. They're just SO MUCH BETTER and more comfortable than these.Read full review

I’ve owned and used AKG headphones (K240) in studios for many years and familiar with their ‘house sound’. I’m using them now in my home recording setup. They do very in sound depending on the market intended for - professional or home-user. They tend to have a warmer, unfatiguing quality - maybe not the most accurate but great for long listening sessions. To be honest I didn’t expect much from the Y50BT and previously not a fan of Bluetooth for audio. But I needed new cans for my noisy morning commute and unable to use in-ears anymore due to ear infections. But I was amazed at how good these sounded, even with Bluetooth. There is a slight bass extension but not bloated or overwhelming. They are excellent for sound isolation even at low volumes. They are comfortable for my one hour commute and I never feel the need to take them off because of discomfort. Very please with these and though I thought a bit pricey I’ve found these well worth the cost. Using them with iPhone successfully but not using the stock music app. Read full review

Excellent sound quality for the low price, they feel well-built and the fit is comfortable. I should note that, after only a few weeks of light use, the left ear-cup is already moving a little more loosely than the right (I have read elsewhere that this can sometimes be an issue with the way this model is constructed). However, I am not worrying about it too much as they don't seem to be on the verge of breaking; they still fit well and the sound is not affected.
