This is a double DVD helping of archive concert footage and interviews with Alice Cooper about his music and the motivation behind it. Prime Cuts covers the full range from early days to Alice's latest incarnations. Prime Cuts Extra, which is the second DVD, is more gimmicky in true Alice fashion with a snakes and ladders Cooper Game, photo gallery and jukebox that did not seem to want to fire up when I tried it on my iMac. The picture quality is the only real let down with this special edition DVD set but that is not surpising given the general film quality in the 70s when the band first started out on the road. If you have never been to an Alice concert like me and have always wanted to know what the fuss was about, then this solves that particular mystery. The interviews with Alice are probably the best feature of this box set with its embossed snake skin cover. My advice is to watch it a bit at time. That way you can cope with some of the musical repetition that some may find irritating.Read full review
