I bought the processor in order to upgrade my 7 year old PC and exceed the minimum requirements of a specific game. The price seemed reasonable, although the shipping cost was rather high. I encountered no problems during the replacement/installation procedure. The speed of execution of programs has significantly improved.
It's a processor, it works, what more is there to say.

I bought this CPU to upgrade my Athlon 64 3200+. The motherboard is an ABit AN-8 'Fata1ity', which I bought in 2005, I think. The board is quite old now, but I could not afford a completely new system. I decided to upgrade the board with as fast/powerful a CPU as I could find, and this one jumped out at me as being very good value-for-money, as well as being dual-core and faster than my current CPU. I had previously upgraded the motherboard's BIOS - I think this was a few years ago, since I could not find ABit's site when I checked recently. I fitted the CPU carefully, taking care to add a smooth layer of thermal transfer compound. While I was doing that, I used air spray to get rid of a lot of dust that had accumulated. Sadly, the chipset fan has failed and is making a horrible grinding noise. If anyone knows of a compatible replacement, I would be pleased to hear from you. The bootup of the system (Gentoo Linux) was substantially faster after the upgrade, even though the kernel was a uniprocessor one. After a kernel recompile to enable SMP, I rebooted the system again and bootup was even faster - what's more, /proc/cpuinfo now shows two CPUs! Woo! Everything is so much smoother than it was. XanalogTV - in full screen mode - is 'realtime' now, and looks like a real TV. Emulation (with MESS) is a lot faster and usable. The speed-up makes everything so much easier to do. It's not as great a difference as I saw when going from an AMD K6-2/400 to an Athlon XP 1700+, but it's still worth it.Read full review
I bought this to replace a 4200 cpu in the mistaken belief that it would speed my computer up, but alas no its made very little difference and could have saved £90!!! but otherwise I am pleased with it.
