This is a previous-generation graphics card with limited graphics memory by today's standard where 8GB for gaming is a typical minimum. I don't play games on my system but I do run a couple of high-resolution monitors and I was mainly looking for DisplayPort 1.4 functionality which this card provides (4k @ 60Hz with no screen-splitting). The smaller amount of RAM means this card doesn't need extra DC power, it runs entirely off the PCIe slot which is an advantage for systems with smaller power supplies such as repurposed business desktops and SFF machines. I was replacing an older AMD card (Radeon R7 260 with DP 1.2) which meant I needed to change the video drivers on my Windows 8 system; this took a little time but after that the system was soon working fine at the required resolution. There is one problem though -- with an AMD card installed I was able to put the machine to sleep (in a low-power state, system state maintained in RAM) and wake it up in a few seconds with a keyboard press. For some reason NVidia drivers don't allow sleep mode and I have to hibernate my system (copy RAM image to hard disk and shut down) and this takes 30 seconds or so to restart when I press a key since it requires a system reboot. It's annoying but not a showstopper. It's apparently been a problem for a few years according to searches I've done about sleep/hibernate issues with drivers.Read full review
