Bit plain and black on the outside, not the lightest to carry, but works well, nice to have a 1tbyte hard drive instead of the silly little things they put in most bottom end laptops. Not very fast with 4gb ram, but I understand it could be expanded to 16gb for relatively little cost..should be very fast then! Worst feature is that when it’s for first turned on it spends hours downloading windows updates...but That’s one of the pleasures of having a Microsoft os! Internal speakers adequate for what passes for music these days, but headphone socket and Bluetooth will sort out the real music lovers. No internal dvd drive, but if you need one external ones are cheap enough or you could have one fitted to the empty slot- I think Argos sell them with more ram and dvd drives but obviously cost more. USB 3 on 1 port, 2 usb2 as well plus HDMI so Great value for money, good first laptop, or in my case a good inexpensive replacement for an ageing windows xp job.Read full review

Just maybe I should have had sight of the lap top touched and trailed it before committing. As an Apple iPad owner it would be wrong to make a comparison but very disappointed. It's cumbersome the touch pad temprimental. Back using my HP laptop 4 years old now but a superior purchase. Will hang on to my Acer and give it some more air time.

Looks like new, would swear it is NEW, the only reason it didn't get 5 stars is because it takes ages to update. It has to download then install a Newer version of Windows 10 and that takes about 5 hours. It was not slow due to internet as I had it connected by cable to the router. Also it has a one piece touch-pad with no separate click buttons, so the whole touch pad moves slightly. I am not keen on this as I think it would cause problems a lot faster than the old style touch-pads. But for ease of use and to prevent any problems we are using a wireless mouse (£4 --eBay). Having said all that don`t think I am being negative or have a poor opinion of the machine, it must be quite good as i bought another one a week later for a relative. Same as first one AS GOOD AS NEW.

The laptop looks good feels nice we'll set out has a 1 terabite hard drive a 4 gig memory it's big let down it's like waiting for paint to dry it's far to slow for todays Internet, I'm so used to using a tablet that is instant but needed a laptop to do things that couldn't be done on my tabet, the laptops dual core isn't upto the job for a laptop with a large 1 terabite hard drive it's far to slow, After downloading and installing all the updates I found the laptop to slow so had to send it back, not really fit for purpose

if I had paid full retail price of £299 for this laptop I would have been very disappointed and quite annoyed, its not fast at all, I have had some older laptops of 3 to 4 years old that are faster than this, these laptops should retail at £185 which is what I paid for a refurb.
