This is my first review here and I usually have a tendancy to waffle on a bit; so I'll be sticking to the guidelines. WHY I BOUGHT THIS ITEM: I bought Act of War: Direct Action for two reasons; the first being that it was very cheap for a brand new and sealed game (a couple of quid inc. postage,) and the second being that I am a lover of Real-Time Strategy (RTS) games on the PC... WHAT I LIKED: I liked the RTS elements and the fact that it focuses on real world resources, weaponary and vehicles. I also liked that there was a half decent- though corny and rehashed as ever- story behind the campaign mode. WHAT I DISLIKED: I disliked the continuous cinematic cut-scenes; its something that you don't get all to often in other RTS games and I don't like getting to a waypoint only to have a cut-scene triggered... there doesn't seem to be long enough gameplay between the cut-scenes... WOULD I BUY THIS ITEM AGAIN?: Yes, definitely at a low enough price - I'm an RTS fan and at a couple of quid a pop there's really little reason not to give it a whirl... WOULD I RECOMMEND THIS ITEM TO A FRIEND?: I would not necessarily recommend this to a friend as there's nothing really amazingly brilliant in the story or gameplay that hasn't been done as well, or better, elsewhere...Read full review
