Having gone to the quacks some months ago suspecting a build up of earwax, something I seem prone to nowadays for whatever reason, I was told the usual, Olive Oil twice a day for a couple of weeks then they'll use their contraption to remove it. This usually has done the job but this time after religiously doing this for whatever reason a lot of it was still hard & immovable & I was told to do it all again. So I thought I'd try a bottle of Earex Advance which I didn't get round to doing for some months after the not to successfull Dr's efforts but to my amazement, after 6 drops in one ear I could hear it bubbling & fizzing almost immediately so I repeated this in the other ear & did this each night for just over a week as per the instructions. By this time gunk was coming out of one ear on & off & the other had become totally blocked rendering me deaf from where the wax had swelled, but this is a good thing, it means it's doing it's job, something the Olive Oil has never achieved to any extent as gunk has never appeared while using it. Then in the meantime I saw these syringes & though a little sceptical at first, having read mainly glowing reviews on Amazon & here thought I'd give it a go at this price. I couldn't wait for it to arrive having become deaf in one ear by now with earache & after following the instructions begun syringing, well this thing is nothing short of fantastic. Little pieces were coming out with each go & on the third go a huge blob the size of a pea plopped out, what relief, I gave it a couple more goes & did the same the other side which had tiny bits expelled & job done. They were a little sore for a few hours after just as they are after a visit to the quaks, but you can vary the pressure by using your own common sense & soreness is often just where the wax has been sitting for months!! I would advise using something as I did to soften or break down the wax first before syringing but I feel like I'm walking on air now. Read full review

The plunger in these syringes get more sticky with time or use. At first it is easy to operate but gets harder to move until it gets stuck in the tube when trying to remove it to dry. Then you have to buy a new one, now on my forth!

Bought this as I have a problem with narrow ear passages building with wax on a regular basis. It is quite easy to use if you have someone who can help you, easy to fill and doesn't hurt thanks to the three hole system. I've had limited success, but I think I have a significant build up, and once I've had it cleared I will use this to keep my ears clean. It can be a bit messy so be sure to get a bowl as close as possible, using a towel under it to mop up any excess water.

Couldn’t bear with the ringing and deafness in my ears, been using olive oil for 8 days. I thought the product was worth a try. It’s easy to use and does take a long time and patience. I did it in blocks of 15 minutes x4 so took an hour on each ear. It worked now I can hear again and headache has gone.

Like a few of the other reviewers, I have a narrow ear channel in my left ear so have had it syringed a few times at local GP surgery. I also know how much it can compact so i wasnt expecting it all to come out in one syringe's worth. In fact it took about 40 - definitely more than 6 pints worth, and to be honest, i was on the cusp of giving up before it worked. So my message is to perservere!! (I too had been using olive oil for at least a week prior)
