Sacha Baron Cohen may have gotten U. S. recognition with Borat, but long before that he was known in the U.K. as Ali G. The HBO specials he did in the U. S. are mild compared to his U.K. specials. They are hilariously funny, and so much better than his American productions, although lack of knowledge of English celebrities may hamper your enjoyment.
I really enjoyed watching this DVD, more than Ali G in Da USAiii. There is over 35 minutes of brand new material including previously unreleased American interviews. There is also 25 minutes of Borat before he was famous. The Posh & Bex interview for Comic Relief is hilarious and Borat at the bowls is also very good. There are 16 chapters titled as follows: 1. Introduction 2. Posh & Bex 3. Economiks 4. Evolushun 5. L.A. Gangz 6. C.I.A. 7. Crime 8. More Animalz 9. Ghosts 10. Borat Jagshemash 11. Edinbur Festival 12. Politics 13. A Real Lord 14. Bowling 15. Posh & Bex (part 2) 16. Da End Special features include some extra footage and a trailer for the movie "Ali G In Da House". Like many of you, i was an immediate fan of Sacha Baron Cohen and wouldn't miss a single epsiode when it was aired on tereestrial tv. I did not buy this dvd on release though and so now revisiting the Ali G & Borat interviews is fantastically refreshing. This DVD is worth the purchase for Borat alone (25 minutes)and the visits to the Cricket and the Bowls clubs are worth the price alone. In time i feel, he will be seen as Sacha's signature character. With an additional 35 minutes of brand new material and the much-lauded Red Nose Day interview with David and Victoria Beckham - this is a must for your dvd collection. The DVD is presented in Dolby Digital Stereo sound and 16:9 Anamorphic widescreen. Highly recommended.
Ali G is back with his most exciting DVD ever! Meeting unsuspecting celebrities with no idea who he is, these interviews are as unforgettably hilarious as the classic original 11 o'Clock Show interviews. Included is a remarkable interview with former U.S. Secretary of State Alexander Haig, Ali's stunning encounter with "real life" ER surgeons, his on-location guide to gang warfare in South Central L.A. and other favourite USA moments never previously released on video. Also including Ali's hilarious interview with Posh & Becks filmed for Comic Relief.
This DVD was great. I bought it to replace the old school VHS version that I had and was very pleased. It was nice to watch again and reminded me of a time when things were simple and straight forward. This DVD has a wealth of extra footage not included in the DVD. I could watch Borat at the Bowls club time and time again!
