I decided to buy 'Hometime' as I have always enjoyed Alison Moyet from the beginning of her music career. I wasnt aware of this album until recently and after listening to it I can see why. Its ok for some background music but to sit and just listen to is a bit boring and maudling. The style of music is a bit old hat for her and hopefully this style of music will be her last before moving on to something a bit more up tempo. Dont think any tracks particularly stand out but as I say 'nice' background music. Soz Alison but keep trying, maybe give Vince Clarke a call he could sort you out again.
Once again the superb Alison Moyet sings with such aplomb that not only her ardent fans will enjoy this album but also the first time listener will no doubt fall spellbound by her vocal talents. Yet another triumph for the one and only Alison Moyet
As always Alison never ceases to amaze me with her powerfully unique voice this album is awesome and I love every track on it. i await any new coming album with anticipation.
Who would have thought that after years in the wilderness Alison Moyet still had it in her to come up with such an accomplished, sleek and thoroughly enjoyable album? I have always been a fan, Yazoo had great singles and her first solo albums were some of my favourite in the 80s, but she had sort of fallen by the wayside with her Voodoo album. Imagine the surprise when this came out: great melodies, contemporary sound, and her trademark amazing voice, it couldn't (and didn't) go wrong. It's like she never went away. And if you get the chance go and see her live, her voice is obviously not tweaked with in the studio: she is a force of nature. And very funny too.
Another first for this lady! This is a must in everyone's cd collection! Easy listening all the way through!
