I bought this book to help me change my thinking about food, as Allen Carr's book on smoking helped me change the way I think about cigarettes and I have now quit with his help. The book is good at explaining how different foods affect us and what we should/should not be eating. I did not like the fact that you need to (almost) become a vegan in order to adhere to the rules! I am not into self-help books, not having read any before, although I have been around people who believe in the power of positive thinking etc. I do not know how it compares to other books, but I would recommend Allen Carr's EasyWay to quit smoking and also the EasyWeigh to lose weight. My friend has also tried the Easyway to stop Drinking.
This book makes you really think about what your putting in your body. It has really changed the way I eat and I never drank water, now I drink as much as I can. It makes you stop eating when your full even if you still have food on your plate. Fantastic!!!!
