Hilary Swank performs pretty well but, like Richard Gere and Ewan McGregor, is far prettier than the actual person portrayed. There is no real focus on the various aircraft and the film is a sanitised version of long distance flight in the 1920s and 30s, no discomfort, little sense of risk. Could have been a much better film with stronger direction, inclusion of some deleted scenes and the grubbiness of flying and the money making manipulation, which is touched on too lightly. I found many of the flying scenes artificial, hence 3 stars are generous.
