Excellent film, however, if you cannot bare dog fighting, do not watch. Still an excellent film. Good delivery time etc. for product.
I'm studying this film as part of the A2 Film syllabus, Mexican Cinema. I strongly recommend this movie to all those students who have yet to progress onto A2. Many cultural and political discrepancies were erupted from the films reception. It has a multiple storyline where each of the protagonists are involved in a predictable car crash. Apart from the fact that each of the plots are connected. It's the mere conceptual character developments that make Amores Perros so intriguing to engross. I've been trying to find a valid copy of Amores Perros on the internet so I can take the DVD in and out to examine before my exams. Hopefully things will turn out well in the future!
I have watched the film years ago in the cinema, remembered that was a good film, and because I do not like to waste my time in films that are predictable and finish with the classic cheesy happy ending, (well just when I am in my period), so I looked if e-bay sellers have it, and I they did; so pleased I have got it. So if you want to spend your time watching a film that really worth it to do it, this is the film!!!, in fact you may have to watch it more than once, it is so well produced and directed that you become part of the film; the 3 different histories are so far away and so near to each other that you finish becoming in the last piece of the puzzle that join on them, fantastic!! I just love it!
Wow! You know, sometimes life is like a strawberry cream cake, and then there are the riverbed mud cakes, the ones with the bits of gravel sticking out! Well, this film shows life in South America, in its immediacy and rawness, which many will find quite shocking. And yes, I cheated, I had my eyes closed during the dogfights. So this is not the kind of film for the Lassy fans, but leaves you strangley filled with the wonder you have during a great magic show.
A film of stark contrasts with the 'haves' and 'have nots' of life kind off meeting the same fates through a trilogy of circumstances colliding together, even the lead dog gets in on the act biting the hand that feeds (saves) it Very well directed story lines matched with equally stark graphic images
