I was recommended this book by a friend. I have never read this author before-I expected a pot boiler but it is an incredibly vivid account of the Drefus Affair. The writing is superb and I was awake all night reading it-does full justice to the horrors of D's arrest and appalling trial.and is utterly gripping.

Was unsure when I started, but after a couple of chapters I found this a very interesting read. Miscarriage of Justice and high level skulduggery in France at the end of the 19th Century. Difficult to find a suitable place to pause and put the book down, start again in earnest at a later time.

read some of his earlier books, which I enjoyed, this I liked so far, then got boring so while its content seemed likeable it was too much for me,I did finish it,but the ending was self evident anyway. So read & seeif you agree!!

Easily his best novel. A compelling story where the main character is not the victim. Harris does all his own research. I can’t praise it too much.
