I have wanted to purchase an iPad for some time, my brother in law had the iPad 2 so I was very familiar with it in many ways, so the new retina screen on the 3rd generation model was a better proposition. The compactness and being able easily to take it about is a great advantage over my iMac which I would also not be without. Niggles are few but should include slow download times occasionally, 3G and especially 4G are almost unusable where I live on the IOW, and I suppose we would like to see battery life improved further, other than that it's more than a fun machine and I cannot think of anything else that comes closer for beauty, style & quality. The retina screen is such an improvement over older models.
Sadly my series 2 iPad I found in many cases, despite many of the APPs required specifications stating it should run them runs out of memory, it has 512 MB as opposed to th 1 GB of the series 3, causing them to dump it's self to the home screen. The series 3 so far does not suffer this problem.
