I saw a piece of this film on the television, it's a follow up of "BABE" a heart warming film. Anyone who has any feeling will love these films.
Same style as the original movie, storyline perhaps a little less enthralling, but the characters, animal "actors" and animation are absolutely brilliant. The heart of the story is much darker in places, somewhat surreal at times, and more poignant than the original, but there are some wonderful comedy moments that made me laugh out loud. Might be less suitable for very small children who take things at face value and don't understand subtlety but, for older primary children (7+), the film has enough slapstick humour and a suitably happy ending to satisfy. Watch it together to explain and reassure where necessary. All in all a good film to have in your collection.
This sequel takes the three musketeers Babe, Ferdy and Mrs. Hoggett on a crusade into the midst of a large city where despite incredible obstacles, they're able to turn enemies into friends, raise enough money to save the farm and combine the two worlds into one. Once again, it's Babe's kind and steady heart that achieves the miracles.
Babe 2 moves the action to America, as it got Hollywood money, to try to cash in on the success of the first film. To me, this means it does not have the nice English feel to it. Having said that, our little girl (now 4) will not watch the first film, but loves this one.
My grandsons absolutely love the dvd and play nothing else but. They like the chasing animals trying to get the poor pig, getting very into the chase and shouting out loud when he escapes them. I found the title on a childrens film club as a must see.
