When I saw the QU-AX, I thought this looked like a good first Penny Farthing for a (then) novice like myself. Indeed, It's been a great bike and helped me to transition to a full-sized 50" Penny Farthing- with no brakes. Although you can brake the QU-AX with resistance on the pedals as you would do on a full-sized Penny-Farthing, it has a mechanical rear brake if you get into trouble. And you gain the mounting & dismounting skills at a lower altitude. It's an enjoyable bike to ride and the leather saddle & grips make it a pleasure to ride. Build quality is excellent. I'd recommend it to anybody whose always been interested in Penny Farthings but was hesitant (like myself) to dive right in at the deep end and spend £1300+ on a full-sized Penny Farthing.
