I originally saw Blade Runner in 1983 in London on a big screen and subsequently bought the VHS tape in the 1980s. It is a film that I have watched many times and rate very highly. The music is amazing. This DVD is however the Final Cut compiled in 2007 and it contains some (three?) new scenes but the main difference is that it doesn't contain Deckerd's voiceovers and it has the so-called 'happy ending' in which Deckerd and Rachel appear to fly away to safety at the end. I personally miss the voiceovers and the happy ending. I have read somewhere that Joanna Cassidy's face was mapped onto the stunt woman's body in the scene where Deckerd shoots Zhora (Cassidy) in the back and she runs and falls through several windows in the mall where that bit of action happens. In my view, one of the very best films that I have ever seen.Read full review

This never seems to be shown on TV anymore, probably because he shoots what looks like a woman in the back and she falls through shop windows. I hadn't seen this film for 20 years, and while I enjoyed it on release, it was wasted on me. I see it for the masterpiece it is now.

Great movie. It is pure quality and doesn’t date. Rutger Hauer and Harrison Ford at their best!!
