This is pretty much the cheapest Pondvac you can get at around £10 delivered. It is made of plastic and has a very fragile looking sectional metal handle. It uses Venturi effect from the water pressure of your garden hose to suck debris up from the bottom of your pond. Connecting up the hose is a little tricky the male connector on the device isn’t Hozelock compatible but there is a female adapter included. This takes quite a firm push to locate. However if you put a short piece of hose onto the female fitting you can put a Hozelock one on the other end keep the fiddly supplied one permanently attached and then easily attach your hose. The device vacuums debris from the bottom of the hose into a permeable cloth bag trapping all but the finest debris. I managed to pull a pound or more of muck easily into the bag in just a few seconds. You can easily empty it out because of the drawstring attachment method. The advantage of this is that a power supply isn’t required and water is passing through it back into the pond rather than being emptied out of it. I don’t expect this to be very durable because of the cheap construction and you need to treat it with kid gloves. However, it’s cheap simple and effective and has got to be recommended for its functionality and low costRead full review

The hose connectors are non-standard. Tried to connect a Gardena coupling and it would not fit. If the original fitting goes faulty it would render the item useless. The device itself is flimsy so if you have a big pond don't expect miracles. On a plus point it will clean your pond - the physics behind its operation are sound. The "gauze sock" will collect the detritus but it will not collect sediment - the "sock" is not fine enough to trap small particles. Whilst cleaning your pond it will fill it up as you clean - the quality of the item leaves much to be desired. It does work - and for £10 it has saved me some work.

Surprisingly well made with a very sturdy handle and plastics. The only small issue is the 'o' ring on the hose connector is too big and needs to be swapped with a ring of correct section. After this is changed the item works perfectly, sucking up all the small and large items from the bottom, and the bits floating, in the pool.

OK, so you get what you pay for. It works better than expected. The hose fitting is not the best so, I chopped a lenght of hose, pushed onto the bottom with a cir-clip, cable tide it to the handel and put another fitting at the top of the handel. It works however, you have to keep hold of the fitting as the water pressure keeps popping the fitting off. If I had a dedicated hose just for the item, I would glue and secure. I found it easier to get in the pool to hoover. Take it slowly so as not to disturb the sunken bits and keep the net underwater. To be honest, I am really happy with it.

What can I say? It was extremely cheap to buy and it feels extremely cheap to hold. It does a great job and I would highly recommend it, unless you have a huge pool there’s no need to buy anything other than this. I have a 12ft above ground pool and this has been superb.
