I bought this printer solely for ebay postage labels and packing slips. It is compact and very simple. It has no touchscreen displays, just four LEDs. It was simple to set up. I print from a MacBook via a USB cable and from my ipad using the free Brother app (this meant that I did not have to purchase a printer that had Airprint). I have not had to replace the cartridge that came with it yet, but I have bought a compatible high capacity one on ebay for £15. I am not sure if the printer is the cheapest per page, but I only need about 20 pages a day and it was one of the cheapest laser printers with wireless and that I could use with my ipad. In my view this is a simple no nonsense printer that serves its purpose. It has no bells and whistles, but I didn't want any!
This printer is let down by the difficulty of setting it up to work on a wireless network. I would only recommend if you have a fair degree of IT knowledge.

very good value for money, great machine, Fast printing, print cartridge last long time, this is a replacement for a old brother machine. used daily in small office
Good laser printer - typical excellent Brother build quality. However unless you have your modem very close to the printer for WPS set up, it's a nuisance to set up - needing a usb cable connection to computer. If you are able to set the printer up once - having got it set up it's a good/ quiet printer. But if you need to connect/ set up to be a network printer be prepared for a lengthy process.(This could have been avoided had Brother gone to the trouble of providing a simple browser set solution akin to what HP provide.)
Very easy to set up and prints quickly, the quality is good and the price better.I need a decent print to support my business that is basic and this fits the bill.
