I scoured the internet for the best camera available within my limited budget. The Canon Powershot has lived up to its expectations and some. I have yet to exploit the full potential of this wonderful little camera, and doubt I’ll ever use all of the features packed within this very capable “point & shoot” Carries many of the features I’m used to from my larger, heavier DSLR, but only marginally larger than an iPhone. It’s solid and well built, without being heavy, the controls are pretty intuitive, and easy to use, and the optional “hints & tips” menu has already proved most helpful. I have bought the powershot as a bridge between my smartphone, and the DSLR I already own, but its size is such that it’ll comfortably fit into my pocket without effort. The video capabilities of the powershot are amazing, and the zoom is out of this world. I’m still learning how to use all of the various functions and features, but is already taking the place of a camera that cost three times as much. Very happy with my purchase.Read full review

LIghtweight, easy to set up and takes great pics. I'm 70 years old, with poor eyesight and not very good with technology, so won't be using all features, but OK as a "point and shoot". Would be better with a neck strap rather than just a wrist strap. Zoom very good, but a steady hand needed at high zooms. Would be better if manual came with it rather than having to download it (all 185 pages).

Excellent camera with some great features. The macro function allows you to take great close up shots of wildlife and the 40x zoom gets you into the shot you want. Also used for family shots the quality is really good

I bought this as replacement for my old Powershot, which was at least ten years old and only broke because I was trying to fix something, very badly. Given that it had lasted so long I figured I'd stick with the brand, it also meant the controls were familiar but the camera is still very easy to use. You can switch quickly between the different modes which are great to play around with although I have found the Auto mode to be perfectly good for the variety of conditions I've used it in so far. I'm looking forward to trying out the continuous capture mode when I get the opportunity. The zoom is incredible and picture quality is fantastic. Can't fault it so far. For context I would describe myself as a keen novice photographer but this has let me take some pro looking pics.

More bells & whistles than I can cope with, currently using Auto for most shots, but the possibilities are seemingly endless once you learn your way around it. I was pleasantly surprised by the weight of the camera, nothing cheap or plastic about it, the zoom is amazing and the resulting images are superb. I am extremely pleased with this camera & would recommend it to anyone.
