As the movie starts we are right in the middle of a wake that was supposed to be a wedding. At the center of the activity is Gray (Jennifer Garner), surrounded by friends as she struggles to cope with the untimely loss of her fiancee, Grady. As her coping mechanisms kick in, she moves in with Grady's roomies Sam and Dennis (Kevin Smith and Sam Jaeger). Also in the mix is Grady's friend Fritz (Timothy Olyphant), in town for the funeral, who hangs around to help clean up. During her grieving process, Gray uncovers a liasion that Grady had that led to a son. So now, on top of dealing with the loss of her fiancee, she has to deal with his infidelity and the possibility of losing her inheritance to a son that no one knew about. Plus, she has a growing attraction to the slimy Fritz. It is a movie that has some fairly deep emotional waters to tread, yet it barely sinks a toe into the waters, and what is there fades relatively quickly from the mind. However still a movie of considerable charm.Read full review
I adored this movie. Although it was about some deceit, it still came out on the light side when Gray fell in love with Fritz. At that point she had every right, since Grady had someone else on the side. Gray helped Maureen even though it threw cold water on her love with Grady...soft heart. After you waded through that, it felt as if they were all friends and had a common tie. You could feel the bond between them all. Loved the Camera work and direction. Feel good movie...ended great...couldn't have enjoyed it more. .
I loved this film. It is not the ordinary chick flick that is sometimes overly girly. It is funny and also heartbreaking at times. Jennifer Garner and Timothy olyphant have perfect chemistry on screen. Jennifer plays a woman whose fiance dies on his stag weekend, she holds his funeral on what would have been her wedding day. His friends support her after the tragedy with his playboy friend (Olyphant) being the friend she finds most. Along the way she finds her finace has many secrets along with a secret son. Wonderfully made and I could watch this over and over again.
This is a feel good film with a happy ending. who doesn't like happy endings hey! The cast in this film are all very good and the acting is also good. Well worth watching. :)
What a lovely film......! This is just a real sentamental Chick Flick. It is a lovely story of how just when you think your world has ended, something happens to show you that there is still so much out there for you. You feel and connect with the characters and get completely involved in the story line. Highly Recommended for those who enjoy a feel good romance!
