This select set of sketches, or stories, contains one vella, seven short stories, and eight poems. It contains a mixture of humor, adventure, romance, sociology, psychology, philosophy, and a little bit of everything in between. The main vella, aChances and Circumstances, a is set in Philadelphia in the early 1950s as it paints a picture of two young people who fall in love but are from different sides of the social tracks, but, despite obstacles from their larger world, the two romantics are determined to fight the odds to the end. Not only is the story fast paced, fun, and serious at times, but also it sets the tone for the rest of the stories in the collection.
