After having read Out of Africa (Karen Blixen), To Close to the Sun (Denys Finch Hatton) and Judith Thurman's biography of Isak Dinesen, I sat down with Circling the Sun. It was like meeting old friends from the other books, also about the British in Kenya so many years ago. McLain's wonderful prose moves me; reading about theese people and of young Beryl Markham is both sad and funny. I hoped the book would last "forever", just like The Paris Wife by the same Author..
