I wouldn't say the packaging was gift quality and mine came slightly battered. I assume as it is "Handtoolset 1" Spear & Jackson see this as entry level but the tools are full size and a good weight and quality and I cant see there is much difference to the Kew set but of course if you want the smaller trowel for potting that set looks like good value. If like me you want a good looking product which will last for planting out garden centre bought plants and don't want a cheap budget tool which bends and rusts this is a great options. Some might chose a lighter option and I would certainly suggest the children's set if you are involving the kids.

I purchased the fork and trowels based on the name Spear and Jackson but one has to wonder are these cheap Chinese products with the name printed on the handles, the fork especially has flimsy tines that bend in use on anything other than very friable soils I definitely would not purchase these again
