DIR615 Routers D1-D4 are great with DD-WRT firmware, especially as a wireless repeater. However, be warned...always check the hardware revision is D1-D4, and NOT D5!! I just bought a D5 hardware version unknowingly for £20 only to discover that DD-WRT is not compatible with that particular revision even as of April 2017. To make matters worse, after flashing it with a D3 hardware revision (which is what the manual stated it was but the sticker said D5, I saw afterwards) it was totally bricked. And the D5 does not have a recovery mode. So you can't even re-flash it with the default D-Link firmware or any other firmware or recover it in anyway. So DD-WRT fans, avoid any D5 hardware revision and check before buying what the hardware revision is on the label of the router.

I bought one of these secondhand to act as a wifi extender. Hardwired it the main router and used it feed my macbook wirelessly. Think i paid about £6 and postage and well worth it. Looked into using the repeaters plugged into your 240v supply but for a decent couple of these would have cost about £80. Already had the cat5 cable running from the other room as the wireless signal was weak so it was a no-brainer. £6 vs £80. S'what ebays for.
Bought this item on e bay as used its a fantastic piece of kit and so simple to set up.my wireless system is now full operating speed. It is also compact and signals received all over the house and through two brick walls. Great little router
