These are useful chisels more for carpentry than cabinet making. I have not tried the side cutting feature yet. A couple of points 1: When using a chisel particually as a scraper I tend to hold the blade - with a sharpened edge this is not a good idea. Need to retrain myself to stop doing this automatically but it may require a cut hand to reinforce the training ! 2: Not sure how to sharpen the side of the chisel - my sharpening jigs do not allow for this design. 3: People elsewhere have revieved these chisels and said the cutting edge is skewed - it is not I tested it witha square. It looks skewed due to the thickness of the blade being less on the left hand side resulting in a slope on the grinding bevel being at an angle
