I saw this film right through which is rare these days. Excellent acting throughout and a fine ending. Heartily recommended.
This was a Unknown sci–fi film to me but as a true film fan I fought I will give it a go. It’s a Film by Marc Card & made by the Co-creator of the City of the Lost Children. Its in French for starters with English subtitles so if you are not into that do not bother. Its all about a space station which is a prison for criminals & this station is above a hostile planet called Dante. A new Prison officer comes aboard with a new prisoner who later finds out has some rather interesting abilities, the story is Fast & quite hard to keep up with & might be better after a second watch but is a visually great Film for probably a small budget film. Worth a go 6/10
Powerful and violent French science fiction thriller, set on a prison in outer space, where dangerous criminals are the guinea pigs in high tech experiments that ultimately unleash a violent rebellion. Visually amazing.
Marc Caro's first solo production without Jeunet (Delicatessen, City of Lost Children etc.), this is a dark embarcation into deep space. Expect to see a good qailty film here with strong narrative and high production qualities. The special effects are good, and thankfully used sensibly by Caro, unlike the vast majority of hollywood space epics we see. The cast (including Dominic Pinon), present a powerful portrayal of incarcaration within a floating asylum & prison, to which the audience will end up sympathising with. Good film overall with messianic overtones, and thoroughly watchable.
The film started well, with an interesting (if somewhat unbelievable) storyline and progressed to establishing the characters and building tension. The end however was a let down: the storyline fell apart with a series of very rushed, unbelievable and illogical scenes.
