Classic Del Amitri. As a big fan of del amirti, but only actually owning a hatful of rain. When i saw this album come up for not too much money in the final seconds of bidding, i thought what the hey, lets get it to fill my collection a little more. Track Listing as follows: 1. Be My Downfall (classic song, in my opinion one of the defining songs from the album, very well put at the start of the album, a brilliant start to the cd.) 2. Just Like A Man (again, what a song, a brilliant song to follow up with.) 3. When You Were Young (one of the lesser known del amitri songs, but worth listening to, one of the reasons i bought this album was for the songs i didnt already know) 4. Surface Of The Moon (again, same as last song, a good song, one of the lesser known ones) 5. I Won't Take The Blame 6. The First Rule Of Love 7. The Ones That You Love Lead You Nowhere 8. Always The Last To Know (classic song again... "always the last to know... how your feeling, the last to know, where you are" oooh, the nostalgia :) ) 9. To Last A Lifetime 10. As Soon As The Tide Comes In 11. Behind The Fool 12. Sometimes I Just Have To Say Your Name i could comment on the whole album, but if you like the mainstream del amitri stuff, then this album is for you :)Read full review
Great CD, bought on vinyl in the early 90's but after the record player went, I hadn't heard it for ages. Replacing a lot of my vinyl now and bought this to bring back memories, which it did. Great songs, and foot tapping melodies. Easy listening. Great to stick in the car. Worth a listen if you are a DA fan or even if you are not. And you can get it cheap on Ebay so its worth a go! Always the last to know was probably one of their biggest hits, and its here. But its not the best track on the album, its hard to say which is. Make up your own mind!
Del Amitri are one of those bands like The Fall. If you like what they do, you should get all of it. This album keeps up the high standard with good lyrics, proper songs and that distinctive Currie voice. Anyone who is curious could do a lot worse than start here.
Fantastic 1990's pop/rock. I saw them in Munich in 1995 and they were just awesome. I can't recommend this album too highly.
