If you love DM as I do this collectors edition is a must have to your collection. Well produced and sonically brilliant. Freelove and Breathe are just superb. Amazing.

Year of release: 2001. Often underrated by Depeche Mode fans, in my opinion this is one of their best records in a successful 30-year carreer. Acoustic guitars combine perfectly and creatively to electronic sounds, which DM are best at - into an astonishing 13-tracks (2 of which are instrumental) album that, moreover, contains amongst the most profound lyrics ever written by Martin Lee Gore for the band. The quality of this album increases at every listening, so much that you'll never get tired of it in years...you'll always find something new in it. The album creates beautiful, soft and sweet atmospheres but if you submerge deep into it you'll realize it doesn't lack the typical DM spirit and even a bit of (electronic, of course) rock ("The Dead Of Night"). In this precious remastered CD+DVD edition, beside the album tracks you'll find: the complete tracklisting in a 5.1 version; 5 bonus tracks; 6 live audio album tracks from the "One Night In Paris" concert (2001); and, last but not least, an interesting documentary (realised in 2006) about the creation of the record, containing interviews to the band members and to whom they've been working with). Famous celeb photographer Anton Corbijn realised the beautiful boocklet pictures and the record sleeve. A must-have record not only for DM lovers but for all high-quality music lovers.Read full review
