Like many other reviewers I agree the assembly instructions are AWFUL and crucially OMIT the underside drum retaining pin, I only realised when I tipped the drum. It fell off the cradle and the drum got scratched and damaged easily, the paint or powder coat is thin and scratches easily as this showed. If you have half an ounce of common sense assembly can be done in approx 2 hours solo. I was lucky and had too many screws/bolts when Laid out along side the instructions list. I have only used it on one day for 10 loads of 5:1 concrete and it worked fine, noisier than some mixers as metal contact roller teeth but not horrendous, I found it worked and mixed 5:1 shovels ballast/cement at a time, I did two such loads and rear drum adherence occurs easily if not wet enough and the interior mixer arms are not that efficient. Tipped into a chillington barrow side on with little spillage. It will never be pristine but the basic is a motor and a drum rotor set up. If it lasts a year for my diy project list I will be delighted and a great deal saved over a premium mixer. I recommend but for diy use only, light, easy to move and clean, set aside plenty of time to assemble and find a local nut and bolt supplier in case of missing items etc.Read full review

Parts list nuts and bolts was wrong, however there were enough to do the job. Instruction manual was of cosmetic value only. On the two upright supports, one has one more hole in than the other and this should be at the motor end, no mention of this in the manual. I didn't find this out until I came to fit the motor. I couldn't be bothered to take everything apart again so I drilled an extra hole in the motor side leg. I used stud lock liquid on all the nuts and bolts as I reckon they will probably vibrate loose in time. I also greased heavily the toothed ring gear but it still sounds as if the drum is not fully circular. For the price and what little use it will have then it is a cheap buy.

This is a cheap mixer, but it actually has done a fair bit of DIY work for me, with no problems so far. Latest job was mixing enough cement for a garage foundation, 125mm deep by 35 square meters, and it never missed a beat. It does make some strange noises as it turns, but so far all good. The motor is on the small side, and will stall if you try to power it up with the drum full and not centralised, but if you treat it right (and carefully) it will give you a good days work with no bother. I would not buy it for commercial use, as that would probably involve some rougher treatment, which it probably would not survive.

If you have a team of bricklayers this machine probably won’t keep up with them. If you’re working on your own though, but don’t want to have to suffer the back breaking job of knocking up by hand it’s a peach of a machine. For a DIYer small batches mean no trouble with the mix going dry before you get to use it all up, especially when laying bricks. Delivery was quick. The shipper was excellent with plenty of delivery notification and even a phone call an hour before arriving and the two boxes the mixer came in were pristine when the driver pulled them off his van. The machine went together easily, the manual’s not brilliant but good enough if you take time, study the pictures and assemble carefully. I’ve put two one ton bags of ballast, one of soft sand and two of sharp sand through it so far and it’s it’s not missed a beat. For what it cost it’s an absolute bargain.Read full review

Mainly and ideal for DIY use. Don't overload or will not mix too well. Been great for what I needed for concrete footings, concrete base and mortar for a large project. Has been left outside in all weather for a couple of years now but has still worked fine every time needed. Good value and reliable but wouldn't class as a professional machine but ideal for ocassional use.
