The film has long been a favourite of mine... however the sound quality was awful... and yo make sure wasn't just that DVD player , it was tried on another 2 independent players. On inspection the DVD was full of scratches but yet sold in excellent condition. Appreciated it was good value and secondhand... was really unwatchable

I like the actors the storyline the nostalgia of it because I'm interested in the triumphs and struggles of the working class who I think are the backbone of this country something politicians forget about in this capitalist society

I decided to buy this film as the filming had taken place in a house that we had recently pruchased. I was being nosey really and wanted to see how the house had changed since the filming took place and wasn't really surprised to see that nothing had changed at all. The house belonged to the Church and for many years had been a vicarage. My husband and I decided to purchase when the house went up for sale, needless to say it needed completely renovated and that is now almost complete. Getting back to the film I enjoyed it very much. Ricky Tomlinson played a great part as always and the storyline was a great example of what really happened during the dockers strike. The language is strong and not suitable for youngsters but nevertheless an enjoyable film.
