My memories of this story were of an annoying Arthurian story (which I don’t think Doctor Who should be) with a silly purple (?) monster at the end. However, I was encouraged to watch the DVD special edition and I am glad I did, as it is a vast improvement. I still have issues with it, and it is far from a classic, but it is a reasonable story overall.

I loved this story when I saw it when it first aired. Great action sequences and fantasy elements. A joy to watch

I loved this story when it was first aired, and 20 years later its still a good watch, solid cast, and the special additions including a feature lenght version which I prefer is great with some extra effects added, its going to be one that fans either love or hate if they like Sylvester or not, the story which involves King Arthur and Merlin is great and I think that there is a good story in how the Doctor is involved in his own future.
Having converted most of my old video collection to DVD I was thrilled to find this doctor who story on dvd. If you watch this in widescreen format, it really does the battle scene great justice; coupled with surround sound, you'll be gripped by the amazing cinematography. I was, however, disappointed by the lack of extras, which any fan of this classic would expect to be included.
