I first read this book in 1988. I remembered it as both funny, tragic and informative. Nearly 23 years later I managed to find and buy a copy from an ebay outlet. It is not a military history of the Falklands conflict but a glimpse into the day to day experiences of the soldiers and other members of the armed forces who took part. It was written by two journalists who accompanied the task force during the campaign. Even though it is a relatively short book, I enjoyed my second reading and highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in this genre or period of history. Even if you are not, you may glean pleasure from within its pages.
A marvellous account of the Falklands war by reporters who were in the thick of it. I've bought this to replace a copy which I lent out and never got back, I thoroughly recommend this book to everyone

Well written with a good degree of humour, as and when required. It provides a good insight into 'behind the scenes' events at all levels, which you would have never otherwise known or appreciated.

First read this book in 1983 whilst serving in the Falkland Islands, looking forward to reading this book again.

Excellently written with real life experience and brings out the British squaddie mentality.
