I purchased this game as when I owned a PS2 the Dynasty Warrior series were some of my favourite games. Unfortunately this game failed to live up to my expectations. Whilst the sound and graphics are quite good the game is let down by it's game play. It is effectively a far too easy hack and slash button bashing game where power ups make defeating enemy character figures far too easy and thus make finishing the game too simple as well. The original games were also quite heavy on the hack and slash button bashing but were made great by the need to strategically defeat enemy generals and re-enforcement posts. This game tries to emulate this game style by pitting you against a single mobile enemy general with you both attempting to wipe out each others strong holds. This should be good but the game falls down when you realise that it is a straight race to do this as you cannot claim bases back thus there is no strategy to the game. I did enjoy the fact that you unlock generals who you can select to defend your own bases as the game progresses. These are awarded as cards which you can look through between games and if selected to defend your bases can develop themselves. Unfortunately though this also became tedious as I had to sift through more and more to find the few who were the obvious ones to pick. There is a wireless link up ability where you can play against a friend if they own the same game and I think that this could be strategically more and add lifespan to the game but as I haven't found any one else with a copy I cannot say if this mode works well or not All in all I would say that I had hoped for better but I suppose the limitations of the DS meant that it was never going to meet my expectations.Read full review
