Very effective and fast moisture removal, it heats the room a bit too which helps the drying and will be a bonus in the damp winter. The water tank is a bit small at only 2 litres is just not big enough if you are drying a room where you have decorated, washed the carpet or whatever. In fact at full blast in a cold damp room it will be full in a couple of hours. The continuous drain hose supplied is easy to fit, if a bit cheap and stiff plastic, and at only 1M long you can only put the hose into a jerry can and have the unit up on a table or chair. (remember to empty the jerry can ! )

Every winter we seemed to be getting more and more condensation, and with it patches of mould and mildew were also becoming an increasing proplem. After spending some time looking into it anmd researching various dehumidifiers I was impressed by other reviews to buy the Ecoair DD1. Using the words of another reviewer, after using it for a day or so, we were left asking "Why didn't we buy this years ago?" The DD1 is simple to use and brilliantly effective. It has cured our condensation problems instantly and the lould and mildew (after treating it) haven't returned. You can feel the difference in the quality of the air throughout the house. While initially I thought it was quite a lot of money to spend, it has quickly proven to be worth every single penny. The settings are easy to use and once the moisture levels have dropped it only kicks in when it senses it rising again. Another bonus is that it barely registers on the Smart Metre when in operation and having been using it for a while now we haven't noticed any significant difference on the electric bill. Easy to move around and use in different areas (we move it into the bathroom after showers for example) I cannot recommend this unit highly enough. Others have said the tank is too small, but we haven't found that to be an issue. Just check it regularly when it is running and it is seconds to empty it. Conclusion: Easy to use, highly effective, low cost to run, attractively designed, quiet. Again, the only thing to add is why did we wait so long to buy it!Read full review

I love my dehumidifier. I would go as far to say its the best thing I have purchased in ages - and I buy a lot of things! Initially I purchased it to help dry out the bathroom. A shower was use at different times of the day and evening and the bathroom started to get mould patches. I put the dehumidifier upstairs with all internal doors open and was amazed at the amount of water it collected. I only ever use it on the low setting as the instructions warn you against having the settings to high as plaster etc can crack. I have had some small cracks appear but will sort that when I next decorate. Once I thought the bathroom was dry enough, I cleaned the mould away and there has been no reoccurrence. Now I have the dehumidifier running for about 12 hours a day, either upstairs or downstairs to pull the moisture out of the air. I don't have space for a drier so sometimes pop it near wet clothes on a rack, again just on low. This works well too. I have no idea how much it costs to run and won't until my next electricity bill comes in. However, in terms of ridding the house of condensation, stopping mould and black patches on windows, it has saved me cleaning time. Plus, when the weather is warmer, my guess is that I won't need to use it until Autumn. Fab product. Would highly recommend.Read full review

This dehumidifier is relatively quiet, even so wouldn't have it on while viewing tv etc. The controls are simple and easy to set one rotating control to set relative humidity and a slide knob for high/low extraction rate. It has a setting for clothes drying, which I haven't used yet. There is a faint smell when working and it heats The room, so good in cold weather. The water tank is a little on the small side at about 2 ltr. But as this is a compact machine understandable, it switches off when full and is easy to remove. Overall a good compact machine. It is supposed to work efficiently in cold rooms but have not confirmed this yet.

Previously I have use refrigerant type dehumidifiers. This is a game changer and has made a significant difference to our cellar. Got a rock bottom price on eBay too!
