This is an excellent bass for the price. The spruce top is nice quality and the build of the guitar is very fine - does not appear rushed at all. As another reviewer has noted, the only issue is for me was that it did need setting up. I could have taken it to a guitar tech, but for anybody else purchasing this is the advice: use the Allen key in the box and release the pressure of the neck if there is too much buzz by turning the key anticlockwise inside the guitar. I did it in small increments, but it took perhaps a full turn and then a settling-in time. Once the neck relief had been adjusted, it's a great bass guitar at an incredible price. Also, next-day delivery was much appreciated.

I got this as a starter bass guitar as I have arthritis and didn’t want a very heavy guitar and I’ve never even tried to play a bass before so didn’t want to spend a fortune if I couldn’t cope with fingering etc. It’s just a fraction heavier than an ordinary acoustic guitar and the neck is nice and narrow which suits my arthritic hands. It’s beautifully made from good quality wood, and sounds fine used either as an acoustic or an electric instrument. From ordering to delivery took just 49 hours, which was good considering that courier companies classify my home area as rural. I would definitely recommend this to both beginners and more experienced musicians wanting an alternative to the traditional electric bass.

Excellent quality, well made acoustic bass guitar. Haven’t tried it amplified yet but acoustically it sounds very good. I would have given a 5* but for the fact that it was virtually unplayable straight out of the box. I had to adjust the tension rod to achieve a straight neck as this had not been done properly. This wasn’t a problem for me as I am capable of the job BUT if a complete beginner had purchased the bass, then I would not be surprised if they wanted to return it. The strings buzzed very badly low down the fretboard before adjusting. So my review is a 4 star because of this. Other than that it is pretty much an excellent bass guitar.

It's a pleasure to use. Previously I just had a cheap second hand guitar and used the bass string. This instrument seems more fliud to use. Nice deep tones. Actually louder than the guitar- despite some general accoustic bass reviews mentioning quietness- maybe with other makes? It has very minor residual superficial (I think) imperfections- so it was a great deal at half price. There is a lot of buzz on the deepest string though- I'm not sure how that'll play out- if I can resolve it eventually. A 'set-up' by a professional may be one way- but that's too expensive for me. The body is larger than a standard guitar and the neck longer. All good for sound, but it has resulted in some neck ache for me. You have to reach further out along the neck for the bassyist notes and twist your neck further to see, and the picking elbow rests higher- also more strain on the arm and neck. But, for a little playing pleasure each day it's not a problem. Younger, less stiff necked players would probably be fine, I guess. Overall- niiice...Read full review
