Beautiful book celebrating the life of this woderful lady Well written and very evocative through the decades of her remarkable life and times. I would recommend this book to everyone.

At first this book seams to be a little disjointed and to jump back and forth, but it soon turns out to be one of the best Royal Biographies around. HV is possibly in love with his subject,-as to a lesser extent was the reader- but doesn't let that blind him to some of the great ladies faults and as such is a very fair look at the Queen Mother and her long life.I believe it is as good, possibly even better than the Shawcross official biography. The detailed references at the back of the book are a good help, as is the running commentary of who was who at the bottom of each page as a new character appears. All in all a damn good read. Dean
