Good, but a little difficult to follow. The hints toward the end of the novel re: a parallel universe in my opinion come just a little too late. The last section 'Washing the bear', about Pawel etc. was interesting but short, didn't go anywhere & seemed disconnected from the rest of the narrative. Is this novel the first of a series, the last, or is it intended to stand on its own? I enjoyed the read, but not as much as I enjoyed 'The Push', or 'The return of the incredible exploding man' by the same author. On the other hand, the author is clearly highly intelligent, and it is ,perhaps, not beyond the bounds of possibility that this one is a little 'over my head'!
