Peace is the ninth album by the Eurythmics, released in 1999. Following their first performance together in eight years at a record company party, Dave Stewart and Annie Lennox began writing and recording together for the first time since 1989. The title was designed to reflect their ongoing concern with global conflict and world peace. The record was promoted with a concert on the Greenpeace Vessel Rainbow Warrior II, where they played a mixture of old and new songs. "I Saved The World Today" was the lead single, reaching number eleven on the UK singles chart (their highest charting hit since 1986). Another single, released at the beginning of 2000, "17 Again," made the UK top 40, and topped the U.S. dance chart.
An excellent cd, a must for any Eurythmics fan, still proving that they have never lost their unique sound in over twenty years together and solo. Annie Lennox is in brilliant voice as ever. I missed buying this album when it came out, so am glad to add it to my collection, and am trying to replace my vinyl onto cd.
I was cruising youtube when I saw a Eurythmics track I'd never heard of before. I followed a link to eBay and the album and Bob's your uncle. Classic Eurythmics sound and some great tracks and lyrics. And all at a decent price!
love it , used to own it, but sold all my albums a while back , dont regret it , but some of them , i really miss,so, great to buy so cheaply on ebay and must point out that postage costs were really reasonable , hate being ripped off with postage!!
