A cheap but well-designed enclosure
I found it very easy to fit a 2.5" HDD in this enclosure. It would have been equally easy to fit a 3.5" drive. The USB type is fast. As far as I can see, it self-parks the HDD when not in use, which should make the HDD last well. This was a much better product than the smaller enclosures I bought before, where it was all too easy to bend the push-fit connectors when installing or removing a HDD. Perfect item for the price
For the price of this item I am very impressed with it. I assumed that for the price of £3.50 it would be a cheap feeling piece of plastic, but it's actually a pretty solid feeling piece of metal. The enclosure also comes with a sleeve to store it in and a small screwdriver to fix the screws in place. Now, obviously since this enclosure only supports up to USB 2.0 and doesn't support hard drives over 500gb, that's something you should take into consideration when buying it; more expensive ones (around the £10+ level) support the faster USB 3.0/3.1 and hard drives up to a few terabytes. However, if like me you are looking to repurpose some older/cheaper 2.5" hard drives as backup storage, then this is the perfect solution since it is cheap enough to make reusing smaller hard drives very cost effective.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

How can they do it at this price?
