This is a No-Frills transmitter with no bells and whistles...but performance is excellent for a transmitter of this size. This is a very well thought out piece of kit (again...despite it's looks) and very cleverly put together as a plug-and-play unit. I do like the idea of the heat-sink and fan all being so compact to cool the unit down as in theory and practical terms, it makes perfect obvious sense. Let's look at the performance: There are three buttons just below the display of which the middle button is to select the frequency/ volume/ and power and the other left and right buttons are to select the + and - to increase or decrease the power output/ volume and frequency (up and down) also the SWR reading is also displayed to ensure that you have a constant reading of any possible aerial issues. There are two inputs for audio and a microphone although there is no pre-emphasis so a good processor is required for compression and a limiter. (Stereotool is a good option) Output power can be adjusted from 5-10-20-30W and the transmitter is very stable on all frequencies used. Using a good aerial on the full 30W can easily reach a 15+ mile radius of clear stereo reception. The harmonics only interfere with LOW powered radio stations within a 10-15 meter radius and normal radio stations for your area when using the transmitter are unaffected. The only downside is that you cannot use an RDS encoder of which may or may not bother some people. VERDICT: This may not be the most attractive looking piece of kit and it may be simply a 'bare-bone' plug and play unit...however, it's power output and performance is impressive for it's size and cannot be faulted...YES there is better out there at more than five times the price, but never judge a book by it's cover as this transmitter delivers very well indeed for it's compact size.Read full review

I have had two of these and they're all the same. They can be pretty powerful but they create a lot of dirty signal with a lot of sound being carried over into the sidebands and also more importantly, this will block out all other stations on all the other frequencies within the space of about 100m +

The rig is well built and does everything it said in the description. One thing buyers must be aware of is the power supply you choose to run it. Make sure you choose a GOOD clean supply @ 12V -13v 8A you will also need a 20,000 ufd Cap on the supply line If you want your sound to be fat with lots of bass / sub. dont overdrive the audio inputs it will make it sound like a trumpet v tinny and squeaky if it sounds like a tin can your putting way to much into it. SO239 Female RF out would have been a better choice. Or a SO239 female jack to SMA male RG316 Pigtail or adapter as a free extra would have been nice. other than that i give this rig 9+ out of 10

This fm tx gets 5 stars from me. It has a very good price. It is well built and gives 30 watts. ( I only use 10 watts) Easy also to get round the 3 buttons, but I'd like to see a bit of instructional paperwork. please

All OK seems to be cleaner out put than the older 30 watt one I have to. very good audio no distortion unlike the older one that needs vol lower. Only getting about 5 miles on a dipole though the buildings are taller around me which is not good for me )-: but buy if thinking.
