Good quality USB cable, but rather short. The reader itself is built to last. But just be careful how you insert Compact Flash cards. The entry guides allow a lot of tolerance for a misfeed. I managed to bend one of the contact pins in the reader when I inadvertently tried to insert a CF card upside down. Fortunately I was able to bend the pin back into postion and I'm now a lot more careful how I insert the cards.

Mat be coincidence but I was unable to access existing data on a flash card! I had to format a spare "card" and then copy the required data.

I had previously bought a cheap internal card reader from eBay. It broke on day one, nearly swallowing a 32GB SD card with all it's photos. I unplugged it from it's socket internally but haven't bothered removing it as it was hard to fit into the PC. I had bought this as internal readers were usually faster than their counterparts. I learned my lesson. Buy cheap; buy twice. Previously I had used a laptop and USB memory stick for file transfers, though I don't have that laptop (for now), though this was a slow process when it came to getting files to my PC. I looked through card readers on eBay and there were cheaper ones than this offering the ability to read every card in existance. However these cheap readers were all USB 2.0, which when dealing with 32gb cards used for photography and videography. I first checked Argos and all they had was a reader for £15 for delivery only, after that I went to eBay and looked for something that would fit my USB 3 slots and came across this. It was reasonably priced, looked nice and was most importantly USB 3.0. I put it through a quick test today as there were a few 1-2GB videos on there that I needed to put on my PC. I was shocked when it took about 7-10 seconds for a gigabyte, this was faster than the built in reader in my fairly pricey but aged) laptop. I'm impressed by it, though these are just first impressions. Time will tell if it's a good device or not. One minor irritation is that the LED in it is just installed inside the casing with no light pipe allowing you to see a red/ blue LED on the outside of the casing as a read/write Indicator, instead it's just been soldered to the board and lights in the ports (slightly) via 'light leaks' you can still see the colour of the indicator but it's a sloppy job that could have been fixed easily by adding a piece of fibre optic plastic and placing the light output at the corner. However this has no effect on it's performance which is excellent. I assume write speed will be limited by the card and not by USB and this will be the case until a new type of card with super fast write speed comes out. TL;,DR it's a blazingly fast card reader with great read speeds and write speeds that are based on the card and not card reader. PS: it's quite lightweight but not so lightweight you know stuff was sacrificed for cheaper bulk shipping which means that it'll sit still and not slide around your desk.Read full review

I got it very quickly. It is nice and small with lots of memory card slots and very high speed transfer of data.

This is a very useful, effective card reader giving me access to photos on older memory cards. I was happy not to have lost those photos.
