I prefer these to the standard drinking water bottles because they have a pin that drops down in the spout rather than a ball bearing. I find this works better as with adding supplements to the water for guinea pigs, sometimes the ball bearing doesn't seal well and the bottle leaks. I also like that you can fill the bottle while it's attached to the cage as it has a lid rather than trying to tip up and juggle a full bottle into place. The holder also means that the bottle is easy to remove and replace on the outside of the the cage for cleaning and filling. On the downside, the shape of the bottle means it's a little harder to clean, and the plastic is possibly not as strong (I dropped my last one and it cracked). Still worth spending extra for a new one rather than the standard cheaper version though.Read full review

Always used these bottles for my daughter’s guinea pigs and accept that they need to be replaced every so often as they are prone to cracking. It’s inevitable as they are removed and clipped back In place often. This one however must have a faulty dropper and leaked completely empty through the night, soaking the whole cage. Not impressed as there are much cheaper bottles on the market.

These bottles never leak, easy to fill and a much safer option as the fitting to hold the bottle to the hutch is brilliant.
