Great photos. An iconic event and a collectors dream. The prelude to the second Elizabethan age. A must have for the mid century enthusiast.

A fascinating book about the designs used by and around the 1951 Festival of Britain.

Good overview of the Festival, with plenty of illustrations of graphic designs, less information on product designs.

It is an exciting new book with loads of useful information. I bought it mainly for the information on the fabrics designed for the exhibition. I do like the newness of the item. It is NOT old, dusty and torn apart which would have put me off buying it. I do like the cover and the sections regarding design in it. I still have to look up the V and A museum textile section to get more precise visual samples of the fabric created at the time and the colours used. It is a useful, practical resource book . There are expensive , large hardbacked books at booksellers costing an absolute fortune to buy in relation to the exhibition around. Not all of us can afford such luxuries. It is a handy book and am quite happy with my purchase. For the textile degree student out there, I would suggest a purchase of this item as a back-up referance for any studies.Read full review
