This is the second pair of Fiskars PX94 PowerGear pruners I have bought. I love them so much that I wanted a back up pair, which would also enable two of us to be pruning using them at the same time. They are so much kinder on your hands than other makes/models, due to the rolling action of the lower handle. They also do a fantastic job of pruning! Our local garden centre sell these at £39.99, but I managed to get both pairs I bought at under £20, so they have been an absolute bargain. I have been a fan of Fiskars products for many years, buying many products from scissors to telescopic pruners and have never been disappointed at the quality and practicality of this make. I have bought both pairs in Large size, which are a great size for my hand (my glove size is Female 7.5 - 8).

I searched for a pair of ratchet secateurs and the words POWER GEAR misled me. they are not what I hoped for but good quality nonetheless. On this product one of the handles revolves as the secateurs open and close this is I suppose a design feature intended to make them feel more ergonomic but just causes me to keep dropping them. I have no doubt that someone thinks they're the best thing since sliced bread - it's just not me!

Being old and cynical, I find great difficulty difficulty choosing products which are nearly as good as the manufacturers promise. The only certainty about the manufactures description is that is mostly Hype! I do however think this is a pretty well designed and manufactured product. It's light, sharp and the rolling outer handle is very comfortable.. However the blades do align perfectly, perhaps because the blade pivot could be 2-3 mm broader which would help by keeping the blades more rigidly in line.. These are comments - not complaints! The item exceeded my expectations.!

Being left handed it's a bit awkward when right handed secatuers have the locking device on the side so when I saw these Fiskars with it on the top I thought great! I was well aware of Fiskars quality as have their scissors. On using the secatuers for the first time I felt something was strange. The bottom handle twists, something which I had missed when reading the info on them but is very comfy when using right handed. I was soon won over by the effortless smoothness that the blade cut through thick branches (approx 2cm) which is, after all, why I bought them in the first place and now I don't notice the twisting handle at all.

My husband already had a pair and kept raving about how effortless they were to use so I had a try of his and instantly fell in love with them so promptly ordered my own - which worked out much cheaper than his set which he'd bought from the garden centre before lockdown.
